May SunFun 24
I am still a bit traumatized after losing last month’s complete post and then having to do it all over again (I gave up on all the interweb links). But here we are, a month later…
Prayers and Praises
We are just so grateful and overjoyed to be in our wonderful, lovely home. The whole sense of HOME is so much stronger than I thought it would be! The peace, the fulfilling feeling that we get to have this time to prioritize our family in this phase of life is really beautiful. The girls absolutely love the yard, and we have water guns at the ready in the back yard for lots of wars. Swimsuits are on a hook, ready to grab. Jessica graduated Kindergarten, which is a REALLY big deal in Brazil, so I tried to make it a bit more or a big deal for her. Sofia finished 3rd grade, and both girls had just really fantastic teachers this year, which always makes for a great year. Both girls (Jessie learned to read the second half of Kindergarten) are almost half-way through the summer reading program already, and we LOVE it.
We were happy to have one of our nieces come stay with us for three weeks, while we also worked on painting all of the upstairs. May 30th my sister and her son moved in, and we couldn’t be happier! We celebrated Carina and my dad’s birthdays, and went tent camping with our camping group of friends (never go camping without one of those!). Caid and I were both able to take weekends for our yearly retreats (mine online and Caid’s in Michigan), and that is a blessing. Caid’s last day of school was June 3rd, so we are all in the wilds of “What day is it?” and “Did anyone set an alarm?” and it is very nice.
I am super excited about heading to Brazil June 21st-July 9th, and then we turn around and head to Connecticut—and them boom-Summer is over and that is sad. But we love it and wouldn’t have it any other way.
