Sunday Funday December 1
Prayers and Praises:
Praises for a great friendsgiving, even though we missed being close to family
Praises for a great Thanksgiving breakfast with the International school—Brazil doesn’t celebrate thanksgiving, but can always give thanks!
Praises for Christmas decorating (thanks for the tree, Jeff and Lindsay!)
Praises for Flavio and Mercia’s trip to Boa Esperanca, where they will be moving in January! It was a great time, and the first time for Mercia and Heloise to see there new home.
Praises for the end of the year International School play (about Joseph) coming together.
Praises for our new pediatrician (our beloved doctor moved to another city in Brazil), who gave Jessica a clean bill of health
Prayers and Praises for Sofia, who had a 104 temperature on Wednesday, but by her doctor appointment on Friday was much better.
Prayers for no more sickies going around the family!

Cultivated Memories from around the Globe: “In fact, I only brought a few select Christmas things with us when we moved overseas. Slowly, over the years, I’ve replaced, remade and recreated the things we remember from home. The items that we have now carry old memories of past Christmas crafts or traditions with the new memories being made on a new continent.” (Velvet Ashes)
The Jungle Prince of Delhi: such an interesting read, completely off my normal topics. (NY Times)

Isn’t it time for a new Mission story?: “In fact, this local translator likely had already had multiple opportunities to speak with these people in their own heart language and share the gospel with them on previous occasions. Folks, he had a ministry in that community ALREADY. Imagine the scenario. An American arrives in your slum community accompanied by a local minister you already know and have a relationship with. The local minister asks if they can enter your home and have a chat. Culturally, you of course offer hospitality, as is normal throughout this region, especially towards those who are wealthier and more powerful than you.” (Craig Greenfield)
Why everyone loves mac and cheese: a fun read…and made me miss it, as we don’t have mac and cheese in Brazil. Or Velveeta.
A Hallmark Christmas: a good article, but the title made me laugh as I had a long discussion about Hallmark with some friends, and now have “Hallmark hot” as part of my vocabulary:). Did you know there was 139 Hallmark Christmas movies? I googled it. (Velvet Ashes)
