Prayers and Praises

It is not December 8th. My computer died on December 4th. They were able to save it and fix it and I didn’t lose any information—but I didn’t get it back until December 13th. Then I realized my video editing program was erased, and I needed to download and learn how to use another one, as well as reorganize my computer, before I could make a video. All that said and done, it is now December 19th and I am back, and catching up. I couldn’t decide if this was a prayer or a praise. Some of both, I guess, like most of life.

To tell the truth, I have forgotten most of what happened this week of our lives. There was a lot of play practice, and extra time with Christa, our friend and intern here this semester (she made it home to New Jersey on the 16th).

Interweb Reads:

  1. I belong to You: “At one point I was seriously trying to do DNA testing to find out if we did have Jewish heritage because of Jewish names we had in our family from Holland. But in the end, I felt it was chasing the wind and it could hinder possibly other open doors God was giving me. When it came to marriage, I wanted someone on equal terms as myself. That meant someone who would accept me for who I was and to whom I would not have to prove myself. “ (A Life Overseas)

  2. Gandalf’s Scream, love, and why we need more anger: “We’ve too often seen anger as the enemy, while all along it was begging to be our teacher. We’ve loved to pray and sing emotional ballads like, “Break my heart for what breaks yours,” but have we dared to sing, “Enrage my heart for what enrages yours”? That sounds crazy, right? And scary.'“ (A Life Overseas)

  3. Storing up Grace: “Those jeans were my best-kept secret, my “please-make-me-cool” prayer. My mom and I were thrilled when we found the knockoff denim, identical to the expensive brand we couldn’t afford. But with one glance, she knew, and she carved me with her simple question, asked with smug intention. “ (Incourage)
