Resources to help you Teach/Share about Black History
We ended up with so many good books and ideas that I have a separate post for adults. This will be the ideas and recommendations for families, mostly with kids in mind.
My daughters are 7 and 9, and these are resources that we went through together. I did an updated audiobook on my podcast (part 1 and part 2) if you like listening better than reading:)
A couple of these the girls enjoyed, but I recommended them for my nephew, who is 14. On the video I forgot one of my favorites: the Underground Abductor! Honestly, the whole series (and everything that he does) by Nathan Hale is fanstastic. '“Kindred” and “Long Way Down” were the ones that really hit me hard.
We focused more on books, and I can’t say I’ve watched or recommend all of these documentaries, tv shows, and movies: but here are some ideas from others.
