Sunday Funday November 10
Prayers and Praises
Praises for a wonderful week with Rachel C.! We had a quick trip to the beach and bookstore to get supplies for Living Stones, as well as a full week of Living Stones and teaching at the International School.
Praises for a great Sorvetada (Ice Cream night for missions), to raise funds for Lane and Misse (leaders from Living Stones Guadalajara) to go on a mission’s trip in January.
Prayers for the mission’s trip in January, which Caid is also attending, and which will be the start of Flavio and Mercia’s ministry ten hours away in Boa Esperanca.
Prayers for the end of the year Joseph play at the International School. Caid is working with the choir and soloists, our friend Josie is doing all the choreography and dance, and I (Rachel) am attempting to wrangle all the rest of the kids into understanding all the rest.

The Power of One Decision: “We are five Joneses in three continents, four countries, and five cities. What the heck happened to my family?” I also heard her on a podcast talking about this—super powerful (Velvet Ashes).
3 ways the World has changed for Children in 30 years: Some great stats and information here by Compassion (Compassion).
Disoriented by Disappointment: “Returning missionaries don't realize how many hidden expectations they have that will end in disappointment, because the people back home simply can't cross the bridge to them. There goes another unmet expectation - they didn't even try to cross the bridge!” (Beyond the Veil)
Sabbath Joys and Small Leaks: “Small leaks will sink great ships. My Sabbath might be invulnerable to my to-do list, to the Big Items I write on my calendar…but the small leaks of daily life will take it down, unless I choose otherwise. Unless I make the space for Sabbath…and for freedom, surrender, and joy.”
