The Trek for Transportation

Trek for Transportation. So many memories-we even had an awesome logo! This was an idea that a couple had after going on a mission trip to Brazil—a way to try and raise money for transportation expenses for Living Stones. They ran it for a year in the early 2000s, and then I began running it as part of being the Living Stones coordinator from 2012-2018. In 2019 we did the Living Stones Weekend instead, and then Covid hit, and now things are just different.

2012: (this was the only picture I could find)

2013 was our biggest year financially, as we were finally able to purchase a vehicle, instead of just paying for gas and upkeep like most years. I was actually in Brazil during it, but my family and friends did a great job, and we even had shirts!

2014:

Top three runners: completing in 13 minutes, Stephan Morris won first place, with John Winzeler (21 minutes) in second place, and Jason (23 minutes) in third

2016 was freezing, and we were again in Brazil, now as a family.

The faithful attendees

Here was 2017, the last year of the Trek that we (Fergies) were present for (green trek shirts):

75 people raising around $4,000. It was a rainy day, and we had over 30 brave souls who trekked 4 kilometers through the stormy weather.

2018: (we were in Brazil, but Tele and Assuerio were able to be at the Trek in person, but nice blue trek shirts!)
