Best Graphic Novels of 2024

In general, I love graphic novels as a chill, lighthearted read. But I have really also loved it as a medium for memoirs, which I have read more of this year. It is definitely of note that a bunch of the books I read as a kid (baby sitters club, sweet valley twins, Nancy Drew) are now all coming out as graphic novels and my kids are reading them (and so I read them too). Included here are some of my kids’s favorites too.

Note: Death and Sparklies is a brilliant idea. Keeper of the Lost Cities got me started on the whole series (the rest of which is NOT graphic novel form), which has been fun. “Lies my Teacher told Me” was powerful.
