Best Movies and Shows of 2024

Wicked: besides the great casting and amazing songs, what made this such an incredible movie is that everyone could go to it and come away thinking, “Dang, that movie is so relevant to today.” And it blows my mind that when they explain WHY it was relevant, it is explaining how their current mindset is correct, and the “other” mindset is wrong. I have heard DIRECTLY conflicting applications of this movie, and it just makes me shake my head and go “Wow. That movie HIT it.”

The Beautiful game: just a lovely movie.

Polite Society: something different. Didn’t like all of how it was different, but it was nice to have something different.

Queenpins: interesting premise, and I like Kristin Bell.

The Holdovers: the slow burn that I liked. Incredible acting.

Bonhoffer: I wanted to see how they explained a pastor turning to assassination.

Wild Robot and Inside Out2: fun for the family!!

What If season 2 did not disappoint. These episodes are so fun!

Agatha All Along: finally, Marvel getting some substance again.

My Lady Jane: not family friendly! But I loved the book, and the show was fun.

Arcane: probably the best thing out there. Season 1 and season 2. Episode 7 hit a special chord, but this show grabs you and doesn’t let go. Beautiful use of music and the animation takes you farther than you thought the screen could go.

With the kiddos:

Tangled, the series: the original actors, new songs, and just so fun to watch as a family. Rapunzel is now a family favorite princess.

Star Trek Prodigy: fun, and as my nephew commented: all of the characters look edible.

Percy Jackson: a fun way to start the series as a family.

Dr.Who: none of the doctors could get me to watch the show—but this one—wow! He brings joy.
